The silver buttonwood

It is a shrubby, evergreen tree native to Florida, the Caribbean, and South America.

Silver buttonwoods have silvery leaves, dark brown bark, and small, greenish flowers that bloom in the spring. The leaves are covered in silky hairs, and the fruit is a cone-like cluster of tiny, dry seeds. Silver buttonwoods can grow to be 15–25 feet tall and sometimes even larger.

Prune silver buttonwoods to keep them looking neat and manicured. In informal landscapes, you can trim wayward and lower branches as the tree matures. Water silver buttonwoods regularly, especially during dry spells. Too much water can cause root rot, while too little can cause the leaves to turn yellow and drop off
